Dr. Hakan BuyukdereDr. Hakan Buyukdere is a Staff Hematopathologist at EORLA Laboratory of Ottawa Hospital General Campus and works as a Section Head of Transfusion Medicine and Coagulation Laboratories. He is an Assistant Professor at the University of Ottawa Pathology and Laboratory Medicine Department. His main area of interests focus on ” Continuous Quality”, “Safe Transfusion Practices” , “Rapid Reversal of Anticoagulation” and “Multiparameter Flow Cytometry”
Presentation covers case-based approach in certain transfusion scenarios and reviews some concerning issues in replacement therapy or laboratory utilization of blood products.

1 : Describe complex cases in transfusion medicine
2 : Identify clinical problems in replacement therapy
3 : Describe technical aspects of blood banking
4 : List issues in laboratory utilization in transfusion medicine
