Description

This workshop will deal with addressing some of the most commonly encountered issues with Barrett’s esophagus. We will begin with
outlining the anatomical landmarks associated with the clinical/endoscopic assessment of Barrett’s along with a brief description of the
Prague system. We will then move on to a discussion of terminology and criteria relevant to Barrett’s esophagus. Among the many
challenges associated with Barrett’s are those of identifying histological changes specific and relevant to the process. We will then move
on to the major issue of dysplasia grading in Barrett’s and its relevant implications on management. Finally, we will finish off with gross
assessment and submission of endoscopic specimens as well as assessment and reporting of intramucosal carcinoma in the context of
Barrett’s esophagus.
