This session will allow attendees to review the key pearls regarding the practice of infection control with a specific focus on the laboratory’s role and the overlap of infection control and occupational health, antimicrobial stewardship, and laboratory biosafety.
At the end of the sessions, participants will be able to
- Describe the components of an effective infection control program.
- Discuss the supportive role that infection control programs play with occupational heath, antimicrobial stewardship, and laboratory biosafety.
- Summarize the laboratory’s role in supporting infection control programs.
