    Dr. Sandra Fischer

    Dr. Fischer completed her post-graduate medical training in Anatomical Pathology at the University of Sao Paulo in Brazil. In 2003 she received M.Sc. degree and her study addressed tumor progression in head and neck cancer. From September 2004 until August 2006, she joined the CIHR Training Program under the supervision of Dr. Asa during which period her work involved thyroid cancer biomarker discovery. In September 2006, she was awarded a research fellowship funded directly by the Thyroid Foundation of Canada. From July 2007 to July 2008, she was a Clinical Fellow at the University Health Network. Currently she is an active staff with expertise in Liver Pathology at the Department of Pathology of UHN, TGH site.

Overview of the histopathologic diagnosis of medical liver and primary liver neoplasms.

Objectives:

  • Identify the main histologic patterns of liver disease
  • Recognize the main histologic fetaures of the most common liver diseases.
